๐ How to Install Mods in Euro Truck Simulator 2
A quick, beginner-friendly guide to installing ETS2 mods โ trucks, trailers, maps and more. Just five steps and you're on the road.
โ๏ธ Step-by-Step Installation
Download the mod
Download it from the page โ usually a .scs file, sometimes a .zip archive.
Extract if needed
If it's a .zip or .rar, right-click and Extract to get the .scs file inside. Already a .scs? Skip this step.
Move it to your mod folder
Copy the .scs into Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod (create the folder if it's missing). Other systems are listed below.
Enable it in the Mod Manager
Launch the game, pick your profile, open the Mod Manager and activate the mod. Mods higher in the list override lower ones (the load order).
Confirm and play
Click Confirm changes, load your profile, and your mod is ready in-game. Enjoy the ride! ๐

๐ซ My mod doesn't show up +โ
- Make sure it's an extracted
.scs, not still a.zip. - Check it's in the
modfolder above, not the game install folder. - Confirm it matches your game version, then restart the game.
๐ฅ The game crashes after enabling a mod +โ
Disable the last mod you added and test again. Crashes usually come from two mods editing the same files or a wrong game version. Enable mods one at a time to find the culprit, and keep map mods near the top of the load order.
๐ฆ .scs vs .zip vs .exe? +โ
.scsโ the mod itself; goes in themodfolder..zip/.rarโ an archive; extract the.scsfirst..exeโ never a real mod. Avoid it.
