Redefined Cargo System: The cargo handling system has been overhauled. Previously, each cargo-trailer combination was a unique, pre-built model stored individually, which was inefficient and space-heavy. Now, the game dynamically combines cargo and trailers using simplified rules. This reduces storage demands, speeds up content creation, and could enable future features like multi-stop deliveries.
Truck Adjustment Menu Redesign: The interface for tweaking truck settings—like mirrors and seats—has been revamped for better usability. It’s now more intuitive, especially for controller users, with smoother navigation: the left stick adjusts settings, the right stick moves the camera for mirror positioning, and shoulder buttons or D-pad handle menu options. This aims to make fine-tuning your truck setup more seamless.
NVIDIA PhysX Implementation: The game switches from the Bullet physics engine to NVIDIA PhysX for low-level physics simulation. This upgrade enhances collision detection and vehicle behavior during crashes or interactions with obstacles, offering a more realistic and robust driving experience. You might notice objects reacting more naturally, like cones staying grounded after being hit.
Driving Academy Updates: New trucks—the Volvo FH Series 5, Volvo FH Series 6, and Iveco S-Way—are added to the Driving Academy mode (introduced earlier). Completing the first module of challenges now earns you rewards usable in the base game: a hanging blue traffic cone cabin accessory and a customizable Driving Academy paint job.
General Notes: This update focuses heavily on backend improvements rather than flashy new content like maps or trucks (beyond the Driving Academy additions). It’s a smaller-scale release compared to some past updates, prioritizing stability and future-proofing. Since it’s an Open Beta, expect potential bugs—feedback is key to polishing it for the stable release.
The 1.54 Open Beta is currently unavailable for Mac OS users, but it is expected to be released for the platform in the near future. So enjoy all the new additions, but please remember: It's only an open beta, not a stable public version - so you may encounter bugs, instability, or crashes. It's completely okay if you want to wait for the final release. But if you're interested in helping us to get there faster, we'd appreciate all of your feedback on our forum and your bug reports in the
dedicated section.
